This September, be sure to mark your calendars and join LILRC with guest speaker Lisa Carlucci Thomas for the program, Design/Think/Do: Strategies for Success at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library on Monday, September 12th from 10AM-12PM.
What does it take to capture attention in the digital environment? How can librarians design marketing materials, services, programs, and websites that promote positive engagement, social endorsement, and expanded reach? Lisa Carlucci Thomas will answer these questions as she outlines strategies for attractive, interactive new media design planning.
Topics to be covered include: the social behavior patterns that promote digital sharing, common elements of successful initiatives, maximizing the potential of social media, and how creative design sparks innovation and convergence. Best practices will be illustrated using examples from the field.
Participants will: increase their understanding of how to design for social sharing, think about the social interactivity of the product, and do: put these techniques into practices at their libraries.
