On February 22, 2012, the highly successful LILRC program, How to Market Your Library, introduced participants to the essential concepts surrounding marketing and strategies on how to market your library using traditional forms of advertising as well as the new social media tools (program details at: http://bit.ly/NkoPPV).
Now that you understand the principles of marketing, put your knowledge to work developing a complete marketing plan. Participants will be given a generic case study and will actively create a marketing plan to reach a target audience. Things to consider include: target market, situation analysis, SWOT analysis, marketing objectives, marketing strategy (how will we market our idea), staffing, budget and goals. The course is designed to focus on teamwork to come up with a creative plan that will bring your target audience into the library.
Mark your calendar and be sure to join LILRC on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 from 10:15AM-12:15PM for Developing a Marketing Plan at the Farmingdale Public Library for what promises to be another terrific training session.
