Join LILRC for a group tour and lecture of the Shelby White & Leon Levy Information Commons of the Brooklyn Public Library, Central Library at Grand Army Plaza on Thursday, August 8, 2013 from 10:30AM-1PM.
The Information Commons is a 5,500-square-foot space that features 25 workstations with desktop computers, seven private meeting rooms with electronic whiteboards, a recording studio, a wireless learning lab, and seating and outlets for 70 laptop users. It is the first “information commons” in any New York City public library, which was launched in January of 2013 and made possible by a generous $3.25 million grant from the Leon Levy Foundation.
